The Jev ecosystem, mapped

Tracking·By OpenJev Editorial·Updated 2026-10-03·6 min read

Within a month of launch, a real ecosystem appeared. We track it here, grouped by what it tells us about the category. Star counts are a snapshot from mid-September 2026 and will drift.

Open-source replicas

The most telling signal: people are rebuilding the idea on open weights.

SemIf

Semantic "if" statements from open models, running on a local RTX 3090. Independent project, the flagship of the open-replica wave.

★ 1,535

mini-jev

A small open re-implementation of the Jev judgment pattern.

—

Qwen-2.5-1B-RLCD

A 1B open model fine-tuned with the RLCD-style calibrated-decisions recipe.

Tooling & integrations

awesome-jev-by-typesafe

The official curated list: use cases, patterns, prompts, starter code.

★ 507

pg-jev

A Postgres extension — ask your tables questions in plain language, get typed answers.

★ 154

jev-browser

Browser automation driven by Jev — operation and target decided in one round trip.

★ 89

foreman

Orchestration/tooling built around Jev judgments.

★ 288

Demos & agents

jev-review

A staged code-review workflow and local dashboard built on Jev.

★ 261

typesafe-mario

A Jev agent playing Super Mario Bros from structured emulator state.

What the ecosystem tells us

  • The interface is the product. Almost every project keeps the "state → typed questions → structured answer" contract and swaps the model. That's a healthy sign the pattern — not one vendor's API — is what's valuable.
  • Open replicas are closing fast. A 1B open model doing RLCD-style training means the decision layer may not stay proprietary for long. Watch this space.
  • The viral demo was Doom. Structured entity state in, keystrokes out, every frame — the same loop as production gating, just with a game engine. It drove the 1,886-point HN thread for a reason.
